In my previous posts on “Keeping it Clean” I went over my cleaning schedule and daily habits for keeping up with chores, and I talked about how to purge items from your home using methods from Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
In my first two posts on the subject of keeping a home clean and organized I covered my cleaning schedule and how I aim to, at the very least, stick to certain daily habits every day so I don’t fall too far behind in the chore department.
I recently revamped our command center, and WOW what a difference this little organizational system has made in our day to day lives! Before, if our piles of mail and paperwork didn’t end up spread out all over the kitchen counters they got thrown into one of two not-so-organized baskets on a side table that caused too many head bumps for little visitors. On top of that bills were missed, important forms forgotten about, and mail ignored. I knew we had to get a better system going.
Before sharing a home with my dear, sweet family it was relatively easy to keep my space clean and tidy. Granted, the spaces I lived in during that time in my life were no bigger than a shoe box…but that’s beside the point.
